Organizations are very knowledgeable about how to protect corporate data from external threats. Cybersecurity solutions offer customizations that provide near-total protection. Yet, few know what to do when the cyber threat comes from an internal resource.

An insider threat is an attack against the organization by internal resources such as employees, former employees, contractors or business associates who know how to access data and IT platforms. The threat consists of theft of patents, confidential information, or destruction of data or sabotage of IT systems.

How can the insider threat be thwarted?

  • By training employees
  • With Identity and Access Management (IAM) logics
  • With security systems that use Artificial Intelligence
  • With alarm control

What are the profiles that could pose a threat to the business? As the above infographic shows, there are 4 possible identikits:

  • The oblivious insider
  • The negligent insider
  • The malicious insider
  • The professional insider

How do we recognize them? What damage could they do to the company? Read the full article “Internal Attack: 4 employee identikits that could prove to be a threat to your company” on the DeltalogiX blog and learn how to stop an insider threat right away.
