What do we mean by IoT? The expression Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a network of physical devices connected through sensors, software, and technologies. The purpose is to enable the exchange of information between connected objects. Why can’t companies oriented towards the digitalization of processes do without it? Let’s find out together.

The advantages of IoT

The decision to digitalize processes in the company involves significant investments in software for Automation, technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, and solutions for Cybersecurity. However, the flow is complete when all production devices are connected to the network; only then, efficiency and global optimization will be ensured. And that’s where IoT becomes critical. It will allow us to monitor machinery in real-time, for example, to prevent failures and typos.

However, maintenance is not the only benefit. The infographic shows other important benefits of IoT innovation.

  1. Increased efficiency and related cost reduction with the use of smart objects that only activate and produce when needed;
  2. Reduced human error through the controls possible via connected sensors that alert in case of anomalies;
  3. Increased employee productivity thanks to technologies that enable remote working and collaboration even among teams in different sectors;
  4. Improved customer satisfaction by connecting devices, including domestic ones such as the fridge or oven. The advantage, in this case, is twofold: as the company obtains important data about the operation and use of a device; and at the same time, consumers can find dinner ready when they get home thanks to an app that allows the oven to be turned on from the cell phone.
